Investment Services for Endowments & Foundations

Fiduciary Advisors, Inc. (“FAI”) was created to assist individuals, retirement plan sponsors and other fiduciaries with the management of their investments.  Our goal is to produce an overall investment strategy and to provide ongoing investment advice and technical support.

Investment portfolios of Endowments, foundations or other entities formed to provide financial support to their sponsors or beneficiaries are necessarily directed by fiduciaries.  FAI understands the need of fiduciaries to act always in a prudent manner and to demonstrate compliance with established fiduciary guidelines and has incorporated this in discretionary investment management services offered to fiduciaries and outlined below:

Preparation of the Investment Policy Statement (“IPS”) to include:

  • Identification of investment objectives and guidelines
  • Recommendation of appropriate asset allocation targets, based on projected cash flows
  • Development of procedures for selecting & monitoring investments
  • Development of guidelines for replacing specific investments or asset classes

Investment Management:

  • Selection and management of plan assets based on the guidelines and restrictions as outlined in the IPS, with an emphasis on low-cost index mutual funds or exchange-traded funds (ETF’s).
  • Performance of continual investment monitoring and identification of any changes in investments necessary to maintain conformity with the IPS
  • Recommendation of changes to the IPS as market conditions or cash flow projections change
  • Quarterly meetings with plan sponsor, management and trustees to review investment performance as documented below

Quarterly Reporting and Documentation of Due Dilligence Procedures Performed:

  • Comparisons of actual asset allocations to target allocations
  • Market return information for various asset classes
  • Comparison of investment performance against appropriate third-party indices and peer group results
  • Peer rankings for all ETF and mutual fund investments
  • Individual fund analysis looking at various fund statistics including return, risk, manager tenure, etc.
  • Minutes of the quarterly meetings with references to the above

Education:

  • Provide trustees and other fiduciaries with information needed to make appropriate investment decisions
  • Hold periodic meetings with trustees and other fiduciaries to provide ongoing investment education and advice
